Therapy Programs

Our therapy programs are designed to enhance speech and language skills in children and adults. We focus on improving articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, social communication, and more.

Specialized Care

At KidSpeak, we provide specialized care for individuals with speech and language disorders such as stuttering, apraxia, voice disorders, and cognitive-communication impairments. Our therapists are dedicated to helping clients achieve their communication goals.

Parent Education

We believe in the importance of involving parents in the therapy process. KidSpeak offers parent education sessions to equip families with strategies and techniques to support their loved ones' speech and language development.

Extensive Services Available

Early Intervention Services:

We guide parents to access early intervention therapy through the New York State Bureau of Intervention for children from birth to 3 years old. We also provide private early intervention services for infants and toddlers who do not qualify for assistance under New York State early intervention guidelines. Services include educational, speech/language and social/emotional services.

Individualized Speech and Language Therapy:

​

  • Early language skills (especially children learning to talk and communicate)

  • Language comprehension (how well a child can understand words and language)

  • Fluency (how well and how comfortably a child can use language)

  • Clarity and expression (how easily a child can communicate what he or she or needs

Social Communication Groups

Small groups of children, to help with the following skills:

  • Greeting (saying “Hello” or “Good-bye”).

  • Informing (saying “I’m going to get a cookie”)

  • Demanding (saying “Give me a cookie right now!”).

  • Promising (saying “I’m going to get you a cookie.”); or

  • Requesting (saying “I want a cookie, please.”).

  • Taking turns being a talker and being a listener.

  • Letting others know the topic when you start talking.

  • Trying another way of saying what you mean when someone does not understand you.

  • Using gestures and body language.

  • Knowing how close to stand to someone when talking.

  • Using facial expressions and eye contact.

Speech/Language and Educational Evaluations

  • Assessment of a child’s communication skills, including speaking, listening and social/language abilities

  • Assessment of a child’s academic readiness skills (up to kindergarten); reading fluency and comprehension skills.
